The objective of this task is to set-up roles and responsibilities for both management and delivery of services. These roles and responsibilities are assigned to both teams and individual resources in those teams.

The initial roles and responsibility matrix is set-up including all roles and responsibilities for the Service Run.

The artifacts Service Engagement Roles & Responsibilities Matrices and Service Delivery Roles & Responsibilities Matrices are created.

Roles and responsibilities will be assigned to both the teams and the individual resources in those teams. If needed you can create specific job descriptions per resource elaborating on the specific tasks to execute and deliverables to produce. This is logged in the artifacts Service Engagement Staffing Plan & the Service Delivery Staffing Plan.

If there are roles defined as key roles in the contract with the Client, the artifact Key Role Succession Plan is made. Also when there are roles that are single points of failure i.e. only one person has the knowledge or the skills required to fulfill that role. The artifact Key Role Succession Plan includes the full responsibilities per role, the required skills, the plans for training one or more replacement resources per role, the names of the resources for succession and the names of resources for temporary urgent replacements.
